Can I use it right after buying the KIT?
You need both the KIT and a system subscription. The Smart Store sells the physical diagnostic KIT; diagnostic functionality is accessed via subscription in the WESCAN app. The first month is free, so you can start diagnosing right after receiving the KIT.
How is this different from a generic OBD scanner?
Generic OBD scanners read only standard fault codes common to all manufacturers, limited to basic engine and emissions checks. WESCAN reads manufacturer-specific codes as well, covering transmission, brakes, airbags, drive motors, and high-voltage batteries — handling domestic and imported vehicles, ICE and EV, with one diagnostic tool.
Can I check a used EV's battery condition?
Battery life (SOH) is included in basic diagnosis. The dashboard shows how much charge remains now (SOC); WESCAN shows how much capacity remains compared to when the vehicle was new. This is a value not available from performance inspection records or test drives.
Will it work with my vehicle?
Supported features vary by brand, model, and year. We support seven systems: engine (ECU), transmission (TCU), braking (ABS), airbag (SRS), air conditioning, drive motor (MCU), and high-voltage battery (BMS). Full fault code scanning is for vehicles from 2015 onward. Contact customer service with your vehicle details if unsure.
What's the difference between basic diagnosis and EV Premium?
Basic diagnosis checks fault codes and battery life (SOH) with ignition on. EV Premium measures battery behavior during charging, providing comprehensive analysis of capacity retention, cell voltage balance, and module temperature management, with a detailed report. It requires turning off ignition, connecting a charger, and measuring during ~10% charge, so it cannot be performed at locations without charging facilities.
Does no fault code mean no problems?
No fault codes doesn't rule out mechanical wear or accident/flood history. Conversely, a code doesn't always mean a component failure. WESCAN is a tool that identifies inspection points with data; a service professional should confirm the exact cause.
What do I get after diagnosis?
An official diagnostic report containing vehicle information (manufacturer, model, year, VIN, mileage, diagnosis date/time), fault code summary by system, battery health (SOH), and key data diagnosis results. It bears the official seals of Wecar Mobility Co., Ltd. and Betterwhy Co., Ltd. The report reflects information confirmed at diagnosis time and does not guarantee overall vehicle condition or future failures.
What's in the KIT?
Diagnostic kit 1 unit and instruction manual 1 copy. Diagnostic functionality is accessed via subscription in the WESCAN app (Google Play / App Store).
Is it KC certified?
Yes. The WESCAN diagnostic terminal has received conformity registration (KC radio certification) under broadcasting and telecommunications equipment regulations. Registration number R-R-BVD-GPGW25V01 (model GPGW25V01, registered 2025-11-21), verifiable via Korea Communications Agency conformity assessment search.
Is it difficult to use?
Log in to the app, turn on ignition, connect the diagnostic tool to the OBD port via Bluetooth, search and register the license plate, follow the guidance to diagnose, and the results and report will appear. It runs on smartphones and tablets without expensive dedicated service equipment, so you can use it on-site during vehicle acquisition.
